Pro-Homeschool Quotes

"A man cannot leave a better legacy to the world than a well-educated family." – Thomas Scott.

"I believe it would be much better for everyone if children were given their start in education at home. No one understands a child as well as his mother, and children are so different that they need individual training and study. A teacher with a room full of pupils cannot do this. At home, too, they are in their mother’s care. She can keep them from learning immoral things from other children." ~Laura Ingalls Wilder

"I feel ashamed that so many of us cannot imagine a better way to do things than locking children up all day in cells instead of letting them grow up knowing their families, mingling with the world, assuming real obligations, striving to be independent and self-reliant and free." – John Taylor Gatto

Afterwards, Pedicures with my 2 daughters, my oldest, Chavonne, and my youngest, Rachel, what a joy!
Then to top it off, took Rachel to get her ears pierced.  She was so excited and looks absolutely darling with those little gemstones in her ears.
A good day, a blessed day........ now on to my nap!

still learning to lay it down at 16 years

Here I am, a 16 year Veteran homeschooler, so they say........
and I still struggle at times with the questions, "is it enough, is she learning"?
OMG, I've graduated 3 kids all ready and you would think I have this down by now.
But, EVERY child is different and what worked for one doesn't work for the other.
THAT'S THE BEAUTY OF HOMESCHOOLING!
It is individualized learning, tutoring..... freedom, seeking God as to what HIS plan is for that
child!!!!!
I am a leader of a homeschool support group and you would THINK that I have it ALL together, but NO,
I don't and that is WHY we need Jesus Christ.  He is our righteousness, He is our salvation, He is the only one that has it together and He imparts to us what we need each day to bring forth His will for ourselves and our children.
I want HIM and HIM alone.  I want my kids to "graduate" and their primary goal is to serve the LORD with their whole heart, mind, soul and body.  If that is accomplished, everything else will fall into place.
They will do and become all that God has destined for them to be.
He IS LORD!!
